For this, you have to first decide upon the look that you want to achieve. Along with that you must focus upon the kind of wedding you are having. The latter is to ensure the practicality of the clothes you choose. You should try to coordinate your clothes according to the weather, the type of rituals and customs to be performed, and the kind of guests you will have for the function.
The weather should play a very important role in the selection of the color and material of your wedding dress as well as your trousseau. If you are getting married in the summer, the material should be light and made of natural fibers. This will ensure that you are not melting from the heat because of your clothes, when all you want is to appear cool and collected. The colors should also match the season - lighter shades in summer and darker ones in winter.
A traditional and ritualistic wedding requires clothes that are comfortable and relatively wrinkle-free. You should select the design and the styles in line with the type of wedding you are going to have. If the wedding ceremonies are simple and relatively short, you can go in for elaborate styles and the choice of material is less restricted. But for a lengthy ceremony, if you choose to wear a dress made of Organza or Taffeta, then you might end up looking like a crumpled paper doll.
