Indian Weddings are a time of loving, sharing, buying and giving. Despite some of our stores being full of fancy and unique, gifts all the time, you never stop asking yourself the eternal question, "what should I get him or her?" Weddings also become a time when most useful gifts become repetitive and common, and it is really nerve wrecking to come up with a memorable gift for the person getting married, be it family, close friends, acquaintances or even a colleague.

Here are some ideas to help you think innovatively: but before you start choosing do keep the person for who it is meant in mind. Your innovation begins from there.

Now, look for:

• Coloured glass candles or aromatic candles fitted in stained glass bowls look breathtaking and bring a sense of useful sensuality to the gift.

• Try to get your hands on unusual lanterns, lamps vases. In cast iron, wood, in recycleable paper, in fancy ropes etc.

• Herbal beauty gift packs, which have small, cute looking baskets and carry an array of beauty products (decide according to your budget). Any bride would be keen to own them. Of course you could go for the more expensive product ranges from designer stores but here again it is based on you budget.

• Have you seen some of the throw rugs you get in ethnic markets? Search for one’s that can be also used as a wall-hanging for a very different appeal.
