After the dressing comes the cutting of the cake. You have to be totally prepared to live up to the expectations you have built up, or you will ruin what you have worked so hard to achieve on your wedding day. What good is the icing if the cake itself is burnt?

So, your trousseau should reflect the style and taste that you are most comfortable with but still be pleasing to the eye of the beholder. It is very important that you put together your trousseau with a romantic as well as a practical point of view. Your honeymoon and your lifestyle following that should be given due thought in the selection of your clothes and accessories.

You have to bear in mind the destination of your honeymoon, the activities you will be indulging in -– such as swimming, partying, travelling, etc. when you are thinking of selecting your trousseau. It is very important that you have clothes befitting the climate you are going to spend your honeymoon in.

If you are going to the sandy beaches for your honeymoon, then you must have a swimsuit with you, and the clothes that you take along should also be light and cool. If the mountains are your destination, then warm clothes must be included in your trousseau. Again, if both of you are the adventurous types, you might need clothes for those sudden trekking trips you might take, or for those romantic moments you spend taking a cruise around.

But while you are planning for your honeymoon, you should also keep in mind that there might be times when the two of you might spend all your time inside. So definitely throw in a sexy piece or two of delicate and enticing nightwear along with the rest of your clothes.

You, also, need to plan for the life ahead of you, following the honeymoon. You must have a collection of formal wear and some casual wear thrown together in your bags. But you need to go about buying things with an eye on how you can mix and match these clothes to give your wardrobe a greater variety and individuality.

When you are buying a heavy and formal salwar suit, you can also get a matching lighter or plain salwar-suit, and use the heavy dupatta with the latter when you need to be dressed semi-formally. Similarly, you can get very formal western wear and then add a few matching casual-wear to them. Use your imagination and combine the formal with the casual to get a chic outfit for any occasion in a jiffy.

Your accessories also demand some attention. But wait! Don’t just run wild buying matching shoes, bags, etc. for every outfit you have selected or you might end up having a heap of unused things taking up the much needed space and money. Once again, coordinating your accessories in various ways can accentuate your looks without costing much (well just your grey cells!!).

Include bags and shoes that are in neutral shades and go along with most of the colors in your wardrobe. Colors such as black, tan, cherry, and cream generally fall under this category. Now, you can add a transparent duffel bag or haversack and transparent shoes to add some fun to your dress.
